One finish that goes really well with cypress is 10 percent lacquer mixed with epoxy so it soaks into the wood to harden the wood, then use marin spar varnish to finish the table. You can even just use a hand rub oil based finish like boiled linseed oil , teak oil. Cypress is a very stable wood. This cypress is 2.5 inches thick.
